Prayers for Romero's beheading to go smoothly this time. The man is resilient as expected of him.

Can't believe it's so close to being released aka almost May already.... :) Getting excited.

Maybe he'll delay it again to troll everyone? [/joking]

If he does, I don't even care anymore at this point. I'm in zen mode.

I for one am looking forward to seeing John Romero's impaled, severed head and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I hope it's got a shit-eating grin.

Idle thought this morning: it’s interesting that Romero has stuck to limit-removing for his modern maps. As producer on hexen, I’m sure he must know at least a little about ACS and what it could do; and gzdoom seems to be his port of choice.

He seems to have been particularly fond of sticking to the core formula of Doom 1. He could have worked with D2's palette of monsters and items as well but I guess this is where his nostalgia resides foremost. The bells and whistles that have no incidence on the core game to him are probably alright on the other hand.

I'm not sure if he mentioned why it was Doom 1 in particular that he works with nowadays, but Doom 2 seemed like a less entertaining span of time if my memories of Masters of Doom serve me right (and if the book wasn't projecting too much here).

There is something about the original that Doom II just can't match, at least to me. Though I would like some Doom II monsters.

He mentioned if Sigil does well he will do another map pack for Doom 2. It sure seems like Sigil has been successful, so I think it's more a question of when and not if.

Doom 2's anniversary sure seems like it would've been a good time, but with how things have turned out for Sigil, it seems like we'll get an announcement of a new map pack that day instead of the actual release.

Who knows, maybe he'll take "this time" into consideration. He is after all the head of his company and I'm sure calls the shots.

I'd like to see Romero do a map pack for Heretic or maybe even Hexen, just to see his take on those games.

I'd rather see what he could do with Doom but with ACS, UDMF, 3D Floors, the works.

So E1M1-3b, E1M6-7b, and E1M9b?

American McGee x John Romero x Sandy Petersen Doom 2 megawad. This is what was revealed in my sleep by an ethereal cacodemon.

I'll take a new Quake 1 episode, honestly

And some new Daikatana levels. No joke

Or another RESCUE ROVER / HDB remake!!! Isn't that already in the pipeline since years?

I wouldn't be surprised if doom eternal were to release to be honest.

Same here. The limited weapons and bestiary combined with the textures make it feel so different. I love playing old 90s doom 1 wads.
