It's still lucky regardless of skill. There are other MIDI authors Romero could have contacted, but he contacts Jimmy. That in itself has some luck involved for the person chosen. Maybe not a whole lot, but some.

 

There are plenty of times where the quality of someone's work has no real bearing on if it gets noticed, unfortunately. I've witnessed it with my own work both for Doom and real life.

Other MIDI authors like Eris Falling for example. And Jimmy has a huge variety, probably his most popular midi is Voyage from Jenesis.

 

I'm considering about making some music only .wads myself and may create one for SIGIL but that is no guarantee.

Anyhow, you'd probably have more luck over on the ZDoom forums, as people here usually tend to focus on Boom mapping and things of the sort.

True. But source ports were made to enhance our experience and generally people stick to old school. I'm not really complaining I just need to learn to program MIDI stuff

This is for the standard edition, no mail regarding the beast edition. And the tracking isn't working, which means that they haven't actually shipped.

The items are shiped via USPS, so they come from the US, so it could take at least a week or more to somewhere in europe, from my experiences.

I received an email as well! I ordered the standard edition, not sure if folks who've ordered the Beast Box have received one. According to the tracking number I received it's coming through UPS and the shipment info has been sent, but it hasn't actually been shipped quite yet.

I have ordered both editions, but got just a mail for the standard edition as of now.

Leaving aside the magical & wishful thinking, the maps use only stock resources, but for the sky (and the music, obviously), according to John Romero. I asked him and he answered this:

There wasn't then, it had the episode 3 sky. Since it's replacing episode 3 in the compat WAD. But it's been a long time since then, so there has been time to add any number of things.

DoomKid423 was commenting in agreement with the gracious sentiment expressed in the original tweet. He's saying "ugh so friggin' lucky!" as in "wow, congrats on the fortunate development!", NOT "you are literally lucky and only succeeded by pure chance". 
 

Of course the always combative Nine Inch Heels ignores this context for the sake of posting an obnoxious epic zinger.
