I finished Episode 1 of Doom on Nightmare in GZDoom some days ago but I couldn't finish the second episode. I got stuck in level 6 of Episode 2. I got all the keys in level 6 of E2 but I got myself stuck among respawning enemies that kill me.

 

I also finished first episode of Heretic on the hardest difficulty with respawning enemies.

 

 

I won't touch Doom 2 before I finish 3 episodes of Doom on Nightmare.

I kind of learnt how to record videos even though I do make mistakes and the time has to be 10 minutes at max for video as it is written this way (I use the free version of the program), site didnt accept my first video due to being long. So I am gonna upload the video on youtube, then put the link but it is taking too long time adding the video to youtube so I wait despite how long it will take.

 

I did my first video recording with Heretic on the hardest difficulty. Level 4 of Episode 4. It is no speed running video. Since monsters dont respawn on the hardest difficulty of Heretic, no problem but I feel I have to act faster than normal to make video shorter than it is and this may affect me in a negative way ending up dying. Plus, video recording program made the game kind of freeze while playing (it is a cheap pc) but I am gonna share it right after I could upload it on youtube first. This will also be my first youtube video ever in my life.

Since Video can last for 10 mins only, only 10 mins recording. Damn. I feel so pissed up now. I played till end and some good moves are missed. I thought I had finished The map in less than 10 minutes. Ahhh. Damn it.  But most of the game is recorded. A little is missed, I think.

 

I leave the computer at home open. Uploading  currently passed 20 percent. It is taking hours.

 

Playing Doom and Heretic after more than a year. I had broken my older pc when I was drunk 1 and half years ago. I didnt have pc for more than 1 year.

So here are what I did so far on Nightmare difficulty:

 

I finished Episode 1 of Ultimate Doom on Nightmare but I couldnt beat the level 6 of Episode 2. I got stuck there with respawning enemies.

 

I played first and second episodes of Heretic on its hardest difficulty plus respawning enemies, which turns the game into the "Doom Nightmare" difficulty. I finished the first episode of Heretic but I couldnt beat the level 7 of Episode 2. 

 

As for Doom 2, the furthest I could go was Level 9 on Nightmare. 

 

 

TNT and Plutonia on Nightmare? I have never even seen the point to try.

Videos don't seem to upload for you for file size. Record an LMP instead.

What is more, pc freezes with video recording program because it is a cheap pc. That is probably the most important issue.

No, he meant YOU record a playthrough of you playing through e1 using the METHODS he linked above.

I finished Episode 1 by dying. Save and Load, Save and Load.  

 

I did 4 different saves in the game. Each time I saved, I saved the other save. Because you have to get back to other loads when you saved in the wrong position where there is no way to get out of it.

 

Level 5, Level 6 and Level 7 were so much harder to finish. Earlier levels of E1 were much easier to finish if compared.

 

But I got stuck in level 6 of E2 with the all keys that are taken. I couldnt finish Level 6 of E2 despite having had all the keys. No matter how many times I tried, I got stuck in my current position with 4 different saves.

 

I will record where I got stuck in Level 6 of E2. Then users will get why I cannot move further.

You don't need screen video recording software.

 

If you use the correct command-line switch, Doom will record the session.

 

The important point is that this recording is NOT a movie file, it is a sequence of co-ordinates (basically) against time, so a LMP file does not take up much disk space. Anyone else will be able to play back that demo if they have the same setup. So all you need to do is record a demo as the others have said, and upload or link to your LMP file - anyone can then play this back with the -playdemo CLI switch.

I tried nightmare ages ago (and again just now) and I just don't have the mindset for it.

 

I play Doom basically to relax and zen out. I also tend to avoid slaughtermaps for this same reason (even if the level design and architecture are stunning). I do however always try and play on UV.

What is happening? Let me explain. As I mentioned earlier, I already got all the keys in the map. So what is happening is..

as has been mentioned several times, you need to have a plan on where you're going, I'm watching you constantly get lost in this maze and that's why you keep dying. being able to play on NM requires level-headedness and a good knowledge of the level. practice makes perfect. plus you've saved yourself into a corner.

No I don't wanna mean you're a liar. I just want to see how you play it. I know about the issue you're having with BandiCam. That's why I asked you to record an LMP and linked the thread. Even TheNoob_Gamer explained:

he just learn how to load pwads, and it take time i might say, so i don't think he will learn how to record demos in the near future. He doesn't have much computer knowledge, also.

I don't justify the listening or reading problem that we all saw here, but just tell you this for your own mental well being as i have seen brick learn to read in less time. Never seen this kind of stubborness before in my life. Not mentioning the constant repeat of the same over and over.

Nightmare has always been the Difficulty that has been way above my skill window.

Unless (s)he's into Doom, chances are (s)he doesn't. LMP is Doom's internal format used for lumps and, in this context, demos recorded in-game.

Pfft, I usually time my saves pretty poorly - I make even 1hp saves sometimes -, and then struggle to finish the level :D .

 

Even when I could just as easily restart, or just load an earlier save.

There was no need for such skepticism. Anyone can brute-force their way through it with enough saves and loads. And most people will still call that "finishing it on nightmare".
