nrofl Posted December 23, 2018 Ok so im planning a space-station type wad and I imported some textures in the Graphic(Doom) format. I have (What I assume) fully working PNAMES and TEXTUREx files, and GZDoomBuilder can load the WAD with no problem, but the textures display this: Does anyone know whats going on? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Kappes Buur Posted December 24, 2018 Did you go through these steps? My original textures are in png format. 1. Open Slade3 and load the images into your map. Patches between P_ markers and Flats between F_ markers Highlight the patches and click on 'Convert Gfx to...' 2. Select 'Doom Gfx (Paletted) Click on 'Convert All' 3. The patches are now in Doom format Save the map 4. Highlight the Flats and click on 'Convert Gfx to...' 5. Select 'Doom Flat (Paletted) Click on 'Convert All' 6. The flats are now in Doom format Save the map Now come the important steps to include the patches as textures. 7. Highlight the patches and rightclick to open this menu Select 'Graphics', then 'Add to TEXTUREx' 8. This message pops up Click on 'Yes' 9. Select 'Import from Base Resource Archive' which creates the TEXTURE1 and PNAMES lumps Save the map Now load your map into GZDoom Builder or whatever editor you prefer 10. These are the textures to use for attachment to linedefs 11. These are the flats to attach to floors/ceilings 12. Map Preview in GZDB-BF 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Select 'Import from Base Resource Archive' When I do step 9 (My mistake was that i chose the "Create New (Empty)") I get this error: what do they mean by "Base Resource Archive"? Like Doom2.wad? Because I opened that in Slade and still got the same error. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

You do not need to open DOOM2.wad separately. When you select 'Import from Base Resource Archive' the DOOM2 resource names are loaded automatically into TEXTURE1 and PNAMES in addition to your patches as long as DOOM2.wad is selected in the top toolbar.
