Some maps are quickly discernible and others have been reworked extensively to the point of only having a handful of recognizable areas. Maps are designed for standalone gameplay, both continuous or pistol starting. Play with GZDoom and the Doom II iwad. Use the hardware renderer, dynamic lights, bloom and the sector light mode set to "Dark" or "Doom" for the best experience. There are two versions available - Ultimate Edition and Classic Edition. There are four episodes - Martian Fury, Frontier of Death, Circles of Hell and The Eternal Everglade. ULTIMATE EDITION Download: Mediafire Google Drive Classic Edition is more in the vein of traditional Doom mapping and uses entirely vanilla assets (bar the title screen graphics). The exit is roughly where the original E1M1 exit is. Go through the nukage room, through the explosive barrel room and then you're at the tram station (with an exit sign): The blue card leads to optional areas that reward you with goodies to help out later in the episode and also open up shortcuts to different areas of the map. Bryan T Posted February 21, 2019 (edited) Alright thanks. Somehow I missed the door to the nukage room. The level is so damn detailed and with all the doors that don't open it's easy to get lost. I certainly appreciate the time spent detailing the levels but the cramped and switch hunt gameplay kills it for me. I managed to trek through the first episode but was pretty bored with what seemed like playing the same level over and over. I hoped ep2 would be a change of pace but it's more of the same. Chief Smokey Posted June 22, 2019 Well it seems 1.4 is going to be delayed slightly since I've decided to move the .wad from Doom2 format to UDMF format. That way I'll have more tools to work with.
