One thing I am really liking about BTSX E3 (judging from screenshots) is that it seems to have much more environmental variety. This was one of the weakness of E1 and E2 (well, especially E1) that the maps looked too similar visuals wise.

 

Really looking forward to it.

I'm very excited. Hoping for a release this year - maybe 30 year celebration of DOOM?

If I may ask, are the levels going to be linear similarly to the first episode or more open-ended like in episode 2?

Screenies 1 and 10 really speak to me. All of the rippling alien textures and dark, musty atria remind me of that creepy factory area from Half-Life's Xen, which really made an impression on me. But the whole damn thing looks gorgeous - 6 and 8 are also highlights in my eyes. I can't wait to get lost in the sights and sounds of BTSX one last time. Best of luck to you and your team, Essel!

Well, that's quite the eclectic mix of levels. Colour me intrigued! How's the gameplay level of difficulty looking compared to E1/2?

I've been in enough creative projects, both irl and in these forums, to know that all creative projects go through ebbs and flows. Sometimes progress grinds to a halt creatively and sometimes it grinds to a halt because burnout, or stuff happening irl. Sometimes projects slow down because being creative means exploring new ideas, and sometimes when those ideas are really good, it shifts the whole project off in a new direction, and may require redoing past work to fit in with the new direction. Which, of course, takes time to incorporate into the workflow. Other times, creative projects hit this godlike zen thing, and miraculous amounts of work get done, seemingly without explanation in a relatively short space of time.

 

Point is, we all know this project will get done, and when it does it will be extraordinary.

 

I wish the devs every success in their endeavours.

Well, vanilla compatibility was always the target as far as I know. I'd be surprised if the third installment broke that philosophy.

Man these screenshots makes me really hyped 
Wonder how the OST would sound like 

Also I have a question.
would there be something like lost levels for Back To Saturn X Series ?
I ask because I know that this is the final Episode of BTSX
