Snakes Posted February 28, 2019 Instead of long-winded intros, I'm going to get to the point: I'd like to finally give a proper fix to Unholy Realms. A quick overview of what I'm looking for (all in -complevel 2): -Game-breaking bugs: anything that completely breaks a level and renders it unfinishable -Speedrun-breaking bugs: monsters not teleporting, etc. (obvious examples: Map23's finish is completely screwed in -complevel 2, historically quirky Map16, etc.) What I'm NOT looking for: -General criticisms or complaints -Texture alignments and the sort Longer version - I'd like to have a final, 32-map wad that is demo-ready. I know this wad is a bit aged these days (6 years? I honestly can't remember the exact date), but its plethora of problems has always been something that has nagged at the back of my head. Doom's 25th anniversary got me back into the spirit of mapping and I'd like to start something simple and fresh, but before I gear up on any new projects, I want UR to be wrapped up completely. It's been sitting like this for too long and, to be completely honest, has always been something of a de-motivator for me in terms of starting a new project. If at all interested, please DM me and please use the version of the wad found in this post. 5 years ago I called this 'final' - PROVE I'M AN IDIOT*! * - proving I'm an idiot probably isn't much of a challenge 14 Quote Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted February 28, 2019 Good to see you around again, Snakes. :) Best of luck fixing UR! If you'd ever like a map for a project again just give me a shout. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
NuMetalManiak Posted February 28, 2019 From Doomwiki (these issues are all monsters not teleporting afaik) Spoiler MAP07: A Hell knight (Thing 346), which only appears on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower, does not actually teleport into the map, as his teleport closet does not have any tags with it. MAP17: Three imps, which only appear on Hurt Me Plenty or lower, do not teleport into the map. This is because their teleport destinations (things 228, 229, and 230) are flagged only for Ultra-Violence or higher. Thing 228 is also only flagged for multiplayer. MAP28: Two chaingunners (things 416 and 417) and two imps (things 418 and 419) do not teleport into the map. This is because the closet they are is not connected to any other sector or closet, meaning they do not hear any noise and do not come into the main map. MAP29: A mancubus (thing 676), or two (thing 675) on Ultra-Violence or higher, does not teleport into the map. That is because the switch that opens the teleport closet to allow monsters to teleport only lowers it to 8 above the highest floor, but this particular teleport closet has a ceiling as well, meaning the teleport linedef is only 56 units tall when the switch is used. The mancubus is 64 units tall, meaning that he cannot teleport into the map. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

In the meantime, if anyone knows/remembers bugs, please feel free to let me know. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
