When Defender of the Universe, Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back Champion, Inventor of Video Games and Thermite John Carmack dies, the universe will collapse in on itself as John Carmack helped God in the alpha and beta versions of the universe

Doom doesn't actually have a lot of obviously very true facts. The sleuthing skill ceiling in the Doom community has just skyrocketed over the decades.

Doomguy does not need to reload his pistol not because any lore reason but because the game is coded like that...

What? you expected some funny reason revolving around fart jokes and sexual intercourse you fucking immature child?

It's actually confirmed that DOOMGuy doesn't reload because he has a long clit

When they were developing "DOOM 2" a devious little goblin stole their hard drives and in order to get them back they had to answer the riddle "Is smoking weed while masturbating called masturblazing, weedwhacking, or highjacking"

John Carmack is the only person who knows how to make games even have the illusion of 3D. Whenever someone else wants to make a 3D game, they have to ask him nicely for a few strings of code.

While we're telling truths facts...

 - iD is the most popular shovelware company to strike gold. Releasing 10 games in 1991.

 - Doom 2 was made as an expansion pack to Doom 1, but no one bought Doom 1 since they gave the game away for free.

 - In protest of Doom being forced to use green blood in the SNES port, iD created Super Noah's Ark 3D. Thus sticking it to the man.

 - Doom was supposed to be a NFL licensed game, but someone (looking at John Romero) thought the game would be better with guns and NFL backed out.

 - To hype Doom 1, Tom Hall wanted to distribute bibles to churches hoping priests would hate Doom and speak out against it during Sunday mass, thus creating hype and buzz about the game.

 - Michael Jackson wrote the soundtrack for Doom, but after reading the fine print of the contract that MJ's lawyer wanted 99.9% of all income before profits, the team went with ripping off rock and metal songs as they were too poor to sue or do anything about it.

 - The level Nirvana in Doom 2 references Sound Garden as Chris Cornell was an avid hunter.

 - iD made Super Mario Bros 3 as a weekend project before they sent it to Nintendo who then published it without consent. John Carmack is quoted as saying "I wish they didn't do that."

 - The Game Boy port of Doom 1 was said to be too good and would ruin the need to get the much more expensive 3DO port.

 - Doom 2 was released on the GBA, but only 2 copies were made, making it so rare that most people don't know it exists in a physical copy.

Wow. I wonder why I happen to have one. Dod you know that Final Doom was the best game in the series?

"Doom scrolling" originally meant to be not an endless Instagram viewing, rather it was an attempt to find an answer to urgent question in topics, that been last posted on doomworld more then 20 years ago.

But what is actually terrything and mysterious is the fact when you see that one of the latest messages been edited right about couple of days ago and it's says: "@Doomkid was here.".

Did you know that Chex Quest was originally planned to be a part of Final Doom? Id Software hired Digital Cafe to produce 5 levels for what was originally titled Checks Quest, and it was based on Ultimate Doom so that Final Doom could have some variety. However, upon completion of the maps Id Software told Digital Cafe that the maps were "too good" for inclusion in Final Doom, so they were asked to redo them or dissolve the contract. Digital Cafe chose the latter, and then General Mills proceeded to buy the rights so it was redone as a kid-friendly TC.

Id Software quickly forced the Casali Brothers to make Plutonia in the place of Checks Quest so they would have a second half of Final Doom. TeamTNT would also base MAP11 of Evilution on the early version of Storage Facility from Checks Quest, which is why E1M2 of Chex and MAP11 of TNT have the same name.

The thing, nowadays known as "backrooms" first time been shown long before the original Doom itself been released, not saying became in Internet phenomen, in one of the episodes of the The Twilight Zone (1959-1964), where the little girl gone into the wall and been stuck in monochrome, weird space. It was only possible to get out of it within a limited time. Some of the family folks save the day.
