Killing a demon sends it back to hell, whereas killing a demon in hell only causes it to vanish for a short time before teleporting directly back where it was before. This is why the only canon why to play Doom episodes 2 and 3 is on nightmare difficulty.

When a Cacodemon and a Pain Elemental love each other very, very much, the Pain Elemental makes a baby in her body.

 

She's so excited to show you her kids, and in turn, they are so excited they will fly up to you and look at you very, very closely.

The real reason why the Atari Jaguar port of Doom didn't have in-game music (the music was only in the title screen and intermissions) was because that it would open portals nationwide to "Duck Hell", that is, the standard Hell in the classic Doom games, except the demons are duck versions of themselves and everything is duck-themed.

There is a legendary source port called "Neapolitan Doom". It automatically adds Doom II monsters and items into Doom/The Ultimate Doom, runs at 16K resolution and at 60fps, and even pays you $100 for each monster you kill and it multiplies depending on difficulty.

My girlfriend made it. You don't know her, she goes to a different forum.

This thread is still going? Well... it's time for more facts of obviousness.

 

 - Doom was made because Wolfenstein 3D sucked.

 - DOom is a 2D game, that's why it's not DOoM 3D

 - Doom 4 is called Doom and not Doom 4 because beta testers kept thinking Doom 65 would be the next in the series.

 - Doom 3 is the best Doom game for some simple reason and that is "shut up you're wrong"

 - JoMero left iD after Doom 2 to start Ion Softmare named after his long hair

 - SNES version of Doom has green blood because of the limited SNES color palette not allowing for green * unelievable? * Jon Tarmack was quoted as saying I didn't make it green for a girlfriend

 - 3DO version of Doom 1 is the best port

 - Doom 2 sucked so bad the team at Mid software decided to not port it to anything but the GameBoy Sadvance

 - Doom 3 on PC was so good Walmart sold it for $53 and not $50.

 - Doom 3 can run on a 486 if you try hard enough

 - Cacodemon was censored by PC for having a hole with which it would release caca to explain the lore behind brown floors

 - Doom 1 was so ground breaking that it convinced Microsoft employees to quit making Windows and start making games that copy Doom 1

 - SNES version of Doom was SNESored in the UK and did not include Mancubus due to their scantily clad bodies being too intense for school children that plaid Doom

 - Doom 1 crashed servers when it was released because the Internet was shit back then.

The dead cacaodemon md3 is actually just a plate of spaghetti and meatballs recolored.

That's actually a common misconception. The problems stems from a conversation back during the development process where various people from iD were talking about distribution in a meeting with the person who would print the graphics. Someone jokingly said that everything had to be upside down because Australia was on the other side of the planet and the graphics team took that to mean that DOOM would be printed upside down. Thus, it looked like WOOD. The error was corrected, of course, but not before a bunch of promotional material was made and shipped to Australia, prompting some there to start talking about the games "WOOD" and "Smashing Pumpkins into Piles of Putrid Debris."
