DesecratorJ Posted April 28, 2020 Two great bands and records but i'll need to go with the King of course. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
hybridial Posted April 29, 2020 There was quite a lot to enjoy in both of them, I think I'd go with Hail Me, I really like folk influences in metal. So for some reason I remembered an interesting song that I only really knew of because I liked Kamelot a lot, I also liked Conception, and Roy Khan did some guest vocals on this album - It's interesting to me to think what might have been had he decided to do this sort of thing more. Might as well make it Roy Khan vs Roy Khan. :P 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted April 30, 2020 HR2. Heh, music and the last 10 maps or so are the only good things coming out from the second HR IMO. @DesecratorJ Forlorn was some groovy melodic black/viking hybrid for sure buddy, didn't know about 'em. If you know more groovy bands that are more-or-less in their vein I'm all ears. Melodic black metal is something I'm definitely missing on my list, because most bands I run into are just underwhelming... 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) Infra. Kingdom of Darkness is easily one of my favorite songs by Abigor, and it seems the band agrees considering just how many times that song was re-recorded. I think my favorite version will always be the demo version honestly, simply because I love the production and the tone of the guitars the most there, it's spot on with my preferences - also dat bass. No wonder since this is kind of the style seen on my favorite albums as well, such as Belphegor's Last Supper, Beherit's Drawing Down the Moon, Craft's Total Soul Rape, Abigor's Apokalypse, Immortal's Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism, and so on. That being said, in terms of vocals it is also the weakest by far. The vocals are REALLY forced on the demo, like, VERY forced. Essentially all the other versions have better vocals - especially those with Silenius handling the duties - but the rest doesn't hit as close as the demo. Also thanks YT, you piece of shit, can't even find the right cover for the second song it seems. That's supposed to be - and is - Scorbutics by Asphyx from their Death, the Brutal Way... album, and NOT a song from Winds of Plague's The Great Stone War, wtf man... hybridial Posted April 30, 2020 Hard choice actually, atmosphere of the first one was great, brutality of the second one is intense. I'll go with Scorbutics, if just because some of those riffs are very tasty. And to celebrate the release of a certain game today - 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
kalaeth Posted May 3, 2020 I'd go with the first one. I did find funny that on the first song dude asks to die and the second one was him dying, satisfied. Since you posted one of my favorite moonspell songs the other day, here are two other of my favorites: 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted May 3, 2020 Heh, I was good I guess :D . I didn't actually realize that. Goat on Fire. Honestly I'd love to see them revisit the folk tinged black metal days, but hey I am completely fine even if they never do. After all, we got Under Satanae, you don't get to see that kind of stuff from bands that change direction usually. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
DesecratorJ Posted May 3, 2020 Abigor because Nachthymnen cannot be dethroned. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

You can always check out Daemonarch, a more blackmetalish one-album side-project : youtube playlist and metal archives link For star wars day, a couple of SW themed bands : Edited May 4, 2020 by kalaeth ups, got the reply inside the quote 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted May 4, 2020 (edited) Oh I do know about that singular project, it was pretty good. I'd kinda like to see more from it but uh, it's dead :v . Hoth. Edited May 4, 2020 by seed 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
hybridial Posted May 4, 2020 Ready for Final War was a pretty fun listen, but its against one of my favourite bands these days, so Pyrrhic. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
zen4040 Posted May 4, 2020 @Doominator2 definitely going with anthrax, was listening to best of album from them a few years ago. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kalaeth Posted May 5, 2020 Night of the Vampire. Now, for something less metal but still some nice guitar work 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted May 5, 2020 Placebo. Had to manually search for the second vid, it returns a Video unavailable error. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Hypnotik Posted May 5, 2020 (edited) Красивая пришла: I like better than the other one. Reminds me of "Sovietwave" music. Late 80's perestroika/glasnost USSR, early 90's electronic music from post-soviet countries, Warsaw Pact countries. good stuff. Edited May 5, 2020 by Hypnotik 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kalaeth Posted May 6, 2020 Krabathor. Because it reminds me of doom music :D I think I'll go and find that album now 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
