Maybe it's the Tower from the bible, where God didn't destroy the tower, but send it to hell, along with it's buliders for punishment for reaching heaven.

Huh? In the story, God simply made everyone speak different languages and he scattered them over the earth.

Had this as my wallpaper image for the last 12 months...

This artwork is concept art for Doom 2016, not Doom Eternal. For some reason it never appeared in the Art Of Doom book though with the other concept designs for the Tower Of Babel... not sure why. But that piece is from Doom 2016.
