TheSlipgateStudios Posted August 26, 2022 Redneck Rampage is a pile of shit, even if it has fans that love it, I consider it a disgrace to the Build engine. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

heliumlamb Posted October 4, 2022 (edited) you gotta switch the graphics to "Min" in system shock every time you hit the B'SERK in system shock for a "Good" experience of hitting the B'SERK in system shock. xdarkmasterx Posted October 6, 2022 Wolfenstein has better base combat than later shooters like Doom, Quake Duke. Weapons feel awesome, enemies are deadly, there's none of those moments where you're forced to slowly chip away at some wall of meat that just will not die even though it isn't a threat to you at all. It's otherwise a very repetitive game but its "incedental combat" is miles ahead of other retro FPS games. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

The controller had a thumbstick, but was far clunkier than the dual stick PS1 pad. It boasted anti-aliasing and texture filtering, but at an average resolution of 240p, it was a smeary mess. PS1 had nearly ten times as many titles. Cross-platform games often looked and performed worse. Too many kiddy games and overly bright colors. The soundchip was frankly unremarkable. The 4KB texture cache maxed textures out at 64x64--one fourth of PS1's limit. The cartridge format severely limited video/audio. It had some great games...but it kinda also sucked. The piece of shit couldn't even output RGB even in Europe, when the SNES did it just fine. Garbage. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Garbage. it doesn't output rgb period, no matter where. there is s-video, yet just about anything it puts out will be blurry no matter the display. nintendo has made maybe one or two good controllers since the 64. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

SFFlowerBoy Posted October 18, 2022 Quake 2 is a nice techdemo, but not a very good game with samey level design and uninspired combat encounters. Soundtrack slaps tho. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I found renewed interest in it after checking out the RTX version. It was surprisingly effective in maintaining my interest. Still, I have to agree with you overall. The industrial/alien setting was ripe for experimentation, but they kinda played it safe instead. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

SFFlowerBoy Posted October 18, 2022 I don't like nintendo games, doesn't mean that I think they are bad or anything like that, but I don't see why people are so captivated by so many franchises that are Nintendo related. Maybe I had to be there to get it. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Koko Ricky Posted October 18, 2022 (edited) In cinema, film isn't automatically better than digital. Film can look like shit if you use cheap stock, screw up the color timing or have a bad director of photography. When in the right hands, digital looks just as good. Modern film stock looks digital due to how much the technology has improved. Edited October 18, 2022 by Koko Ricky 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I happen to own titles like Sonic R, Sonic 06 and Rise of Lyric and I can tell you with experience that these are not very quality games. Sonic franchise is infamous for having games that look like no one gave a shit producing them, which is a shame. 3 hours ago, invalidlain said: But also, what does Ken Penders have to do with Sonic? Well I admit I'm no expert in this case because I'm not a HC Sonic comic consumer but as far as I know, Ken Penders pretty much made a drama about a character that's based on Sega's Knuckles the Echinda character, and they've been struggling about it in court. Also his drawing style is "interesting" to say the least. In case you do not believe me, you can check it out yourself and see this photo where the man himself visits Ken Penders: Spoiler 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
BaileyTW Posted October 20, 2022 Legend of Zelda 2 isnt that bad as a game as people say. It's gameplay to my knowledge is pretty unique for the time, the swordplay is pretty damn good at times, and it is comparably cryptic for games at the time. Dying is still punishing to an unfun degree. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

TheFocus Posted October 21, 2022 Killer Instinct has aged like soy milk in direct sunlight. the idea of Doomguy being a human turned demigod is better than him just staying a human. (there i said it) Sonic 2 is not a good game. Halo 2 is the worst of the original trilogy. God Of Emptiness is the most overrated death metal song in existence. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
