How do I add custom decorate sprites into my map.

Recommended Posts

I'm currently working on a five-level wad and I'm nearly done with the first part but the issue I'm having is the sprites I'm using aren't really popping up. I tried that copy and paste trick in SLADE but it still haven't went through.

The decorate sprites I'm using is the cacti sprites

Did you add them to your DECORATE as well?

I don't really know what that is but I'll assume that I haven't done that

Then you might want to read up on this one: https://zdoom.org/wiki/DECORATE

It's either a lump (basically just text) in your .wad file or a separate .txt file in your pk3 folder. This depends on in which format you map. In this Decorate file you have to tell the engine, that you actually want to use the Cacti as a decoration within the game. Don't forget to give it a number, so that you can see it in the Doom Builder as well.

UPDATE: I finally got the cati to work in here.

Spoiler

And now I'm scared of what I might do if I take interest in looking into the decorate scripts
