Hand-Drawn Maps/Mechanics from Doom Bible, previously undiscovered

So who here has heard of the Doom Bible?

 

If not, it was basically a blueprint to Tom Hall’s version of the original Doom that involved more RPG elements and a fleshed-our story as opposed to what we have now. Anyway, doom_txt just shared this, and I’ve yet to find discussion on this curiosity here:

This actually provides new insights into how Doom was originally going to be, including the names of locations in Hell and proposed gameplay mechanics that never made into the finished product. 

 

My apologies if this has already been posted, but I felt this was an incredibly interesting find that deserves discussion.

I’m well aware of the Doom Bible’s contents. However, what’s new here is the names of the levels in Episode 2 (as well as all the drawings that came with both the proposed Episode 2 and the proposed gameplay mechanics).

Anyone figure out how to make the images large enough to see?

They don't seem to have larger versions on the page from what I could see. You can zoom in if you go directly to the image with 'Copy Image Location' but it's the same resolution.

Man, this is a cool find. I wish they were available in a higher resolution though. At least they're in a museum where they belong.

This is a truly amazing find, especially since maybe someday the original idea for doom could be accurately recreated.

"Spirit Drains" sounds like a sewer level in Hell.
