Szuran Posted June 7, 2019 I have no idea how to make textures or flats that both look good and align together. What's the secret? How do you do it? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kappes Buur Posted June 7, 2019 (edited) The process is called image tiling. A Google search for paint.net image tiling or gimp image tiling brings up tutorials on how to do this. Personally, I use Paint Shop Pro 8.00, which has a build-in routine to accomplish this, for example for a sky image Spoiler Edited June 7, 2019 by Kappes Buur 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Guest Unregistered account Posted June 7, 2019 (edited) Try and make the different parts (for example, the bricks in a brick texture) align to an 8x8 or 16x16 grid. That's all I can really say without knowing the specifics of your problem, could you post the resources your having trouble with? I found tutorials for Gimp, I think I'll be fine with them. In general, I was trying to make a simple cloth-like texture but weren't able to make it tile. Edited June 7, 2019 by Szuran 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Szuran Posted June 7, 2019 (edited) I'd appreciate that. We can talk via PM. Currently I'm trying to make a set of flats (floors) that looks like it has neon lights reflected in wet concrete at night. I reckon I need 9 flats to make a proper wet street: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Where everything but 5 are connecting borders (1, 3, 7, 9 being corners), and 5 has to align with anything. EDIT: I guess I could also use _| and |_ joints. I don't know if I'm explaining this clear enough. :) I'm trying to replicate this look of the floor, with the visible border to the puddle: Edited June 7, 2019 by Szuran 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
