I am glad to see there is an interest across my retro channel :) Now, i am planning to start a Baldur's Gate series. I think there are lot of people here liked old rpgs :) I couldn't get into BG gates. I prefer Diablo (not 3). :D 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

What about Gothic series ? Gothic tells its story very briefly and excelled in the perfect game design. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

I liked that one! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Beelzethoth Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) I'm 27. DOOM and Timesplitters will always be the pinnacles of fps for me. Just fucking thankful I don't have to play with Doom95 anymore. Edited October 19, 2019 by Beelzethoth 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Don't think it's the pinnacle of FPS but it's quite good to have fun for a while, still replay it occasionally on my homebrew-enabled Wii (Emulation might be better but i got no money for a PC that good!). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Beelzethoth Posted October 20, 2019 I definitely put Timesplitters up on a pedestal that not everyone agrees with. Sure there were shooters that were technically better, like Halo for example, but I always found the variety and customizability of Timesplitters to be an experience that really stands on its own. Story mode, arcade mode, challenge mode, mapmaker mode, and a ludicrously fun multiplayer were you can literally control every aspect of every match right down to the music, the radar, even how smart the AI of your opponents will be, should you choose to include bots. I've also found that Timesplitters is the best fps to bust out at parties, probably because it's lack of notariety and goofy humor helps remove the stigma that peope feel like they have to be good at games in order to have fun playing them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
CBM Posted November 6, 2019 (edited) old nerd here aswell.. 39 to be exact, soon to be 40.. Coder by trade...Doomer by fate... I am also not too much in to EVERY new game.. I DO like the ones with mods though.. like Eldar Scrolls, Fallout 4, 3, NV... But the newest "Fallout".. not so much even doom 2016 is a little to modern for my taste, I like the way old Doom can be modernized in GZDoom with 3D models etc I have a lot of good memories from playing the old might and magic games... Those games would be interesting to remake in the GZDoom engine.. but with a twist... some?/one? of the might and magic games allowed you to freely hire and fire party members as you went along your merry way... that was cool... you could even hire dragons as part of your adventure party Edited November 6, 2019 by CBM moooar details 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

You need modern sourceports to run doom (there are many, but my favorite is GZDoom) and blood (NBlood or BloodGDX) diablo, half-life, thief and postal? not sure.. but they might also have modern sourceports or similar tricks to make them work on a modern system 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
