Interestingly enough they seem to have copied bulletstorms cross-hair for the shotgun but shifted to the side.

 

They're changing the one in Doom Eternal though to something a little different.

That doesn't make sense at all, chainguns are just chainguns. It was Wolf3d and Doom that popularized chainguns.

It's just like saying Doom Slayer is a rip-off of Master Chief.

Gatling or Minigun. I mean that the design looks similar.

Chaingun, Gatling gun, Minigun... Everyone calls them different... 

Purpose?: the same.

I know they look similar in design,,, But I say it again, Doom and Wolf3d popularized chainguns.

The Doom 2016 version and the way its held reminds me of the 'Smart Gun' from 'Aliens'. Obviously without the barrel.
