TravyB Posted September 27, 2019 (edited) Can anyone tell me why the extra textures and things I have loaded into this wad aren't appearing when I use the Doom Builder Boom format? https://www.dropbox.com/s/uzm098xy9x9ewls/CLAUS.wad?dl=0 The textures and things DO appear when I try to load it using a Hexen format (and would assumedly also load with UDMF) but Boom just isn't reading them. Are you supposed to import and place files into the wad differently when you're planning on using Boom? I'm stuck :\ And to clarify, I mean that they're not even showing up in the list of textures I can use. Edited September 27, 2019 by TravyB 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
boris Posted September 27, 2019 DECORATE doesn't work in Boom, and neither does (AFAIK) TX_START and TX_END. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Alper002 Posted September 27, 2019 The closest thing to DECORATE you'll get in Boom is DEHACKED, But it'll also require you to most likely replace stuff. To define new textures you're going to have to deal with the TEXTURE1/TEXTURE2 and PNAMES lumps, and the way they work. Do also note that prboom+ is the sourceport of choice for testing boom format maps, specifically because its' complevel system allows you to make the game act exactly like boom. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

A lack of educating yourself does tend to have the effect of running into a few problems. :) Read this for map format and this for importing textures and this for the basics of doom mapping.
