Got him to sign the Nintendo 64 version of the game a few years ago after playing against him at Doom II.

You can see the jealousy in Romero's eyes. He hates Doom 3 because it was a financial success and he was not part of it. So he needs to constantly bash it.

Pretty sure he was both having a gas and also because it's not what he would've done with a Doom 3 personally, hence "I didn't make this". Also it's the black sheep of the series for numerous reasons, even though it still has its fans for what it is, who's opinions can be more controversial than others (nu-Doom should've been more like Doom 3 and Doom 3 was the true Doom all along from what I've spotted).

I guess you could still argue that it's not completely off the rails since he co-developed the original Doom, which of course spawned the sequels.
