yakfak Posted October 25, 2019 (edited) this is a NANOWADMO thing Spoiler all levels and the status bar made this year two tunes made this year plus many made last year credits so far: wollymammoth for MIDI AMP utility ribbiks & danne for the lettering (with permission) bethesda's Daggerfall for all the new prop sprites (slightly edited by me in some cases) joe-ilya for pointing out a skip in MAP03 which i still haven't fixed lol using: xwe a mix of gzdb and dbx cubasis and wolamp paint.net and psp dfall pack explorer lol this is for doom 2, meant to evoke naive but 90s hard gameplay weirdness is primary, no attempts at balanced arena combat are present in this WAD whatsoever secondary objective is to make a personal level set that i can write a long story for in the text file looking for feedback on whether levels are broken and, if you use prboom+, whether the midis are the correct volume, work on headphones, work on speakers etc. i don't care if you can't find the secrets or you beat map 2/3 in five seconds flat or you find the levels hideous recommended playback is in prboom+ with complevel 9 and with default general midi patches for the music test wip version 1 here contains four maps and all new music to do: finish map 02's music (40% done) and snip a new title theme from it finish map 05 (10% done) finish map 06 (50% done) new splash screen, logo, victory, text and credits screen (0% done lol drawing is really hard) (zekhmet isn't dead or anything i just had a burst of mapping energy!) In order of preference: 4 > 1 > 3 > 2 ztivWIP1_fda_rbk.lmp.zip good work :3 you destroyed map 04 really, just letting the mastermind chill out in the centre of the map the whole time haha stuff i noticed needs fixing: map 02 - needs stronger hints as to why all the keycards disappeared lol. it has some jim flynn-ish progression probs like mandatory lifts which are a bit too hidden combined with some absolute punishment mechanics for no real reason. not apologizing for that cos i love weird magic maps but it did look frustrating for someone else. there should just be some doom mapper's shorthand for This Is An Experimental Mess that I can insert. "hey, at least you can just leave the map" TM zan-zan-zawa-veia 2015 map 03 - can delete the invulnrosphere (and some of the obstacles need updating cos they were off theme) map 04 - might need to find a way to reduce sniping spots from outside the main area? could place obstacles to dissuade picking off the mastermind. map 01 seemed fine, i like the way you did all the fights in that big silo/server room for fun, it's a really gentle intro if you play it pessimistically 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

yakfak Posted April 4, 2023 I worry that this file exists at least one laptop ago x3 will rummage for it there's a slightly later build where I finished MAP 05 and had a decently-developed build of MAP 06 but they were uh even less user-friendly than MAP 02 is here.
