Here if you want to see origin of map09's music...

To my mind they're similar enough for it to be a possibility, but they are also different enough for it to be possible that it's just coincidence.  I am on the fence on this one.

Wrong!   Unused 23 midi is the Stone Temple Pilots song.

https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Unused_Doom_music

The unreleased track mentioned is an alternate/production version of  Map09's D_IN_CIT, which we know to be based on Stone Temple Pilots - Sex Type Thing due to information in un23's meta data. So we know that's where D_IN_CIT comes from.

The wiki also explains this: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Doom_II_music

It was a mixup in labeling.  Happens all the time.   Like that Zelda song by Rabbit Joint labeled as System of a Down.

Or as that wiki page says "The inspirations for the tracks noted above are substantiated by metadata comments found in the unreleased MIDI tracks (archived 🏛) released by John Romero, many of which are alternate versions of the MIDI tracks used in Doom."

So the un23.mid is the only source labeled Sex Type Thing people are going by apparently and somehow saying in_cit is another version of it.

Also, Chopping Mall music is better than anything Stone Temple Pilots put out and id Software has too good taste in music to use one of their songs in a finished game release.

Possible I guess. The movie looks kinda garbage though and it doesn't follow the trend of most of the music being based on metal band music. Plus the whole counter evidence thing.

The first thing is evidence against your theory, the second thing is a subjective opinion about what music tracks you like. Neither of these support your theory, you need to present something else.

Can you not read?   On the Doom II music page YOU linked, see that little number 1 next to it labeling map09's as Stone Temple Pilots - Sex Type Thing.    Now scroll way down to what that little number 1 stands for.    It says it comes from the meta data of the unused tracks.    So that would be un23.mid that people including the wiki maintainer are making the jump from to label d_in_cit as Stone Temple Pilots - Sex Type Thing.

How about YOU or someone show some evidence of some meta comment actually labeling a midi of d_in_cit as Stone Temple Pilots - Sex Type Thing.   Is that so hard to understand?

The second thing was a joke you took way too seriously.

Screw the STP comparisons, this says that there are two slightly different versions of The Dave D. Taylor Blues (one plays on map08, the other on 14 and 22), which has sent my goddamn Doom OCD back into overdrive - why the hell would they do such a thing?! WHY DO I KEEP LEARNING NEW THINGS ABOUT THIS 25 YEAR OLD GAME??!?!!??!?

They also make Map08 so special and it always plays sounds in the highest volume. Even you turn the sound completely off, you can still hear it. This has a low chance somehow related to this I guess.

Yeah, I knew about that one, for some reason they carried over this behavior from Doom I (the boss levels have their sounds cranked to give the boss enemies maximum effect), but this only occurs on Map08, and not map17 or 26 (where the other boss maps would be if thinking about it in a Doom I configuration).  And this happens in any megawad (try punching the air at the start of Plutonia map08 to see what the hell I mean).  The mysteries of Doom.....

I think Doom2 is just one episode extended greatly, which is why it only happens on 08. Just a guess.

The only difference I ever noticed with the DDT Blues was that 14 and 22 glitch when the MIDI loops, but 8 works correctly.
