Redneckerz Posted November 30, 2019 It is kind of funny that other sites now are reporting on this when this is rather known. But i get it, its a rather unique port amongst ports. There used to be proper site with the port but i can't find it with a quick search. Ah well. ReaperAA Posted November 30, 2019 While I already know about this, I am still baffled at how this camera from 1998 runs doom better than most of the doom console ports from 90's. How the HELL? How(and why) is this camera from 1998 so powerful? 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

How the HELL? How(and why) is this camera from 1998 so powerful? Because it's from 1998. The consoles you are comparing with are the SNES (1990), 32X (1994, Genesis 1988), 3DO (1993) and PS1 (1994). The 3DO had its port done in 2 weeks and thus couldn't be optimized to its 12MHz ARM CPU, and the PS1 frankly performed about the same as Doom in this video anyway. This digital camera meanwhile has a 66MHz PowerPC CPU and is designed around 2D image processing, so not exactly surprising. And again, it's from 1998, technology simply evolved.
