A lot of people say that the fog mode doesn't do too much, but I've figured out that radial fog mode turns the more boxy banded sw light mode into a sort of circular light dome around you. After I finish my current project I'm straying past vanilla limits never to return. I thought they would force me to keep focused on interesting architecture at a structural level rather than detail, but instead they've been a massive ballache for open areas and eaten up more time than detailing ever would have. I was digging through an old hard drive today, found an abandoned Doom side-scroller I was working on years ago. Legacy's OpenGL renderer doesn't work on my system any more so it looks uglier than I remember, but it was reasonably fun. I've taken a video but it'll probably need all day to upload.
