Deadwing Posted September 18, 2020 Thanks a lot @Lila Feuer and @BluePineapple72! It's what @Gez has said, it's a custom texture with a gradient effect to get that dark effect. I think Eviternity and Ancient Aliens have used a similar effect on some maps 1 Share this post Link to post

ChopBlock223 Posted September 20, 2020 Hah. I remember hearing that described, to where it was like 8 arch-viles at first, but then Skillsaw saw that testers would just run away from the archies and be fine, so he made that spawn far more of them. 1 Share this post Link to post

I wanted to do something similar for my Mine map of mine. You could also use 1-wide sectors if you don't want to hassle with textures. StalkerBlade Posted September 25, 2020 I'm really liking where this mod's going. I'm attempting to give it a genuine sense of fear and anxiety, which is fairly hard to pull off in video games; at least for me anyway. I can't really say that any game or whatever has ever made me lose sleep from fear, mainly because they're usually just filled with cheap jump scares. This definitely won't have any of that in it. I also see a lot of potential for this that could actually become a large scale mod with some interesting mechanics and combat strategies, but due to my "try to finish before Halloween" deadline, I can't put very many of them in. :^( 19 Share this post Link to post

VanaheimRanger Posted September 25, 2020 (edited) Created a transparent STBAR to use with @NightFright's Fullscreen Status Bar mod: Here is the lmp in PNG format if you want to use it: NOTE: You can use this PNG as is without even putting it in a WAD. GZ/LZDoom will load raw .png files as patches even outside of a WAD/PK3. Edited September 25, 2020 by guitardz 9 Share this post Link to post
NightFright Posted September 25, 2020 There may actually be a way to automatically use this when statusbar transparency has been set to 0. Gotta talk to 3saster. Good idea there, mate! 3 Share this post Link to post

NightFright Posted September 25, 2020 (edited) Maybe the letters could be a bit brighter to improve legibility, at least that's what I am thinking. Similar to the arms numbers (when weapon has not been collected), possibly a bit darker. Edited September 25, 2020 by NightFright 1 Share this post Link to post

That's probably true. I made it for personal use and I am okay with them being a bit dark. Just shared for those who want it. I could do a quick edit of the vanilla stbar later (This one is edited from the Sunlust bar which is a bit darker.) EDIT: Yes, it maybe looks a bit better with vanilla brightness... Here is the new PNG: Edited September 25, 2020 by guitardz 7 Share this post Link to post
