how do i import older GZdoom saves onto newer versions?

Yeah, i just updated GZdoom, and uh.... i tried to acess my Heretic save, and my Doom ultraviolence save, and.. i can't acess them, how do i update them to a newer version?

 

i don't wanna lose my progress

You can't. But what you can do is make a list of all your inventory, health, etc. then warp to the map you were on using the new version and "give" yourself everything you had before. It's not really cheating in this case.
