XxcglezxX Posted January 21, 2020 Anybody else feel that the Weapon Carousel is kind of sluggish? You have to first select the gun, and then wait for it to come up instead of how it used to switch guns as soon as you pressed the bumpers. Also, I feel like the weapon icons that come up are a bit distracting. I know that there are shortcuts for guns on the d-pad, but I can't help but to use the bumpers to switch guns, it's just a force of habit. I hope Bethesda ends up making the Weapon Carousel optional. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ZeroTheEro Posted January 21, 2020 Nah, I rather not go back to the point I have to wait for the gun to pop back up to choose another one. The carousel in the consoles are much more less showy than say, the Android/iOS releases to be honest. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

In good ol' PSX Doom you can use the bumper triggers to select a different slot quickly, you can switch weapons in a couple of seconds even if it's from the single shotgun to the BFG. Because it lets you cycle to the one you want (you see the slot numbers clearly in the HUD) while the old weapon goes down, then you only have to wait a sec for the new one to raise. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
taufan99 Posted February 28, 2020 And in the SNES port you can cycle through the weapon list while pausing the game, letting you handle enemies in a more efficient way. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted February 28, 2020 It's a little sluggish because it has to remain compatible with the original Doom, where once you start switching to another weapon there is no way to stop it. By waiting a split second it can assume you have settled on the weapon you want, instead of instantly starting to switch to an intermediate weapon while you are scrolling through the list. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
