Thorogrimm Posted February 23, 2020 So... I've been working on my newest map recently for the small hobby project 'Cross Contamination' and I'm kind of a noob with the different formats to work with in Doom Builder 2. Currently I'm just using ZDoom (Doom in Doom Format) and it's been the most relatively straight forward so far but with necessary features I'd like to use. But recently I've been feeling as though I'm missing out on the features from different formats such as slopes and bridges (bridges being my main draw to another format). I'm relatively comfortable at the moment as I've learned most of the basics and successfully published my first map but of course I'd like to learn more and work with something a bit more versatile for my experience. TL;DR - I want to use either UMDF or Hexen but I've been using Doom format, is it best to simply copy and paste in those formats or learn from it and make a new map altogether in those formats, in future? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kappes Buur Posted February 23, 2020 (edited) A most excellent tutorial. While some mappers still use Doombuilder2 they quickly realize that using a newer editor like Ultimate Doom Builder is the better choice. Edited February 23, 2020 by Kappes Buur 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Thanks! I'm so relieved I don't have to go through all the linedefs and reassign the actions for them. I've also decided to make the conversion to Ultimate Doom Builder seeing as I'd just be limiting myself otherwise. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
