What sort of easter eggs do you expect or even want in Eternal?

We've already seen some good ones, so i wonder what else could there be in the final game and what could they reference.

I wonder if IDSPISPOPD was even referenced in 2016.

A reference to Crash from Quake 3 could be interesting, whether or not it has to do with the lore or an upcoming expansion.

I'd like to see something for Chex Quest: Maybe there's a kitchen in the Fortress of Doom and you can see some cereal box implying it comes with a free game.

Since Heaven is a bigger topic, maybe reference a certain weapon from an otherwise obscure mobile game.

I know we may never get the modern equivalent of secret Wolfenstein maps for obvious reasons.

I think there's some possible Heretic/Hexen stuff.

I would like to find easter eggs that operate at something deeper than surface level when it comes to Doom history / trivia. It's fun that there are 12 different "rip and tear" puns on one shelf of a bookshelf but one is enough to get the point. A hidden Daisy on every map is fine but we know who Daisy is already, they even put the fanart painting of Doomslayer + Daisy in the game itself. For instance in Doom 2016 there was an arena on one hell map that was pretty clearly inspired by the architecture of Dead Simple. That's the sort of easter egg I can appreciate - you won't even notice it unless you have the knowledge and context for it. Doom Eternal putting a zillion surface-level references in feels more like pandering.

Doom 2016 had plenty of Easter Eggs where adding more would be pushing the limits. I feel Eternal will be taking it a step further. So as Linguica said more subtle inclusions would be a nice nod.

I didn't find another easter egg-related thread so I'm posting in this one.

Did anyone notice that in the cutscene with the Divinity Machine in Taras Nabad where Samur gives the Slayer his powers there are original DOOM fireball sounds hidden into the general ambience sound soup of the cutscene? They really must have added a lot of stuff and classic references into the game. Time to listen even more carefully to the sounds in different parts of different levels. :)

A (Doom 3) easter egg I noticed:

On Mars Core, if you open up the Fast Travel menu at the end of the level, (1) the area in which arrive after you shoot yourself from the orbital cannon is called Alpha Labs and (2) the area in which you find the Slayer Gate is called Delta Labs. Both of these locations are named after levels in Doom 3.

Interestingly, the final arena is in "Hell" and is subtitled the "Temple of Sin", despite being in the core of Mars. This could possibly be an indirect Doom 3 reference where the core of Mars contained a Hell hole at the end of the game. To continue the easter egg, the Slayer uses an escape pod to go from Delta Labs to "Hell", akin to how the Doom 3 marine used a teleporter in the Delta Labs to go to Hell.

There are a few other fast travel locations named after Doom locations: Toxin Refinery (E1M3) in Super Gore Nest and The Waste Tunnels (MAP05) in ARC Complex. Hell on Earth has a "Downtown" (MAP13) location as well.
