doom builder 2 can't find game files, help

hello I recently installed doom builder 2 and for some reason the only thing that's showing up for me is freedoom 

 

I own the GOG version of doom

None of us are born knowing how to make DOOM levels. We have to learn.

Ergo, read Doom Builder: An Illustrated Guide.

 

However, Doombuilder2 is old and no longer maintainmed. There are several improvements,

which you might consider instead.

Well, yes, that was obvious from your initial post.

 

Where on your harddrive did you install the IWAD?

1. For DOOM or Ultimate DOOM it would be DOOM,WAD.
2. For DOOM2 it would be DOOM2.WAD.

 

If you have read any of the material I linked to then you know that the location of the IWAD is important during the editor GAME Configuration. For example, when you have to set up the Resources for a mapping format:

 

 

Of course, the path to the IWAD on your computer would be different.

thank you again I've realized that I don't actually have DOOM.WAD,  since I downloaded using GOG Galaxy I have a .exe of the game 

 

I'm so fucking sorry

I assume it's some front end for their store.

 

If you purchased the DOOM game from GOG, then yes you will have a DOOM.exe.

And also a DOOM.WAD, else you would not be able to play the DOOM game.

nevermind I figured it out. GOG Galaxy just has a terrible UI
