DOOM stuff modelled in Cinema 4D

 Because I made the backplate like this

and because I was looking at some DOOM doodles of mine from a couple years ago
I decided to remake the breastplate into one unit, instead of the way i had it before

I think he's done. I mean, I wonder if I should add some more spikes on the rear side, but I already have more than the OG ....

Okay, so, I may be getting a bit nutty on this one

I already have several shotgun models already, so I wanted to make something... more unique and beefy for DOOM

mag is like... has a spindle thingy in it, 15 rounds in 3 stacks; pumping the slide unlocks the breech, rotates the spindle, ejects the spent shell, pops one into the lifter (however it works), closes breech

Viola! That's the idea, anyway

For some reason C4D is crashing every time I turn the chamfer and nurbs on the receiver back on

so it isn't smooth lke the rest.

Still trying to think of how the action works. *Generally*, at least, enough to fake it....

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I figured out what was happening. Had some weird geometry in the middle of the solid at the back of the receiver, so I deleted it, and also cleaned up a lot of extraneous mesh1909402985_Doom-ShotgunWIP_0085.png.83168b2979a94a434da2568890bf190a.png

Had an idea for how the shotgun loading works, realized it wouldn't fit, closed it all up to figure it out later

Well, I was thinking more like a cross between the original flaming skulls and the novels' version, which were steel with rocket motors (which apparently were based on a beta version).

I think I'm about done, except for figuring out a good (or at least passable) way to do the thruster jets. Although I wonder if i should add some meat or pistons or hoses connecting the jaw...

Also will probably use the skull to start building a Hell Knight over.......
