Hey amigo! Played 3 maps. I wanted to just take a look, but got me hooked so I played some more.

1st of all congrats on the release, glad you dodged all trouble and made it happen.

 

Really entertaining layouts so far, very good monster placement also.

I was surprised by some secrets, since you always say during your streams you dont really care about secrets

but you did a good job with some of them, specially on 1st map, got 100% there.

 

I couldnt find a way to get BFG at map02, got 2/4.

Also couldnt get 100% kills on map03 (IDDT showed 2 imps guarding a plasma rifle inside a secret sector heh)

Had another 3 map session.

 

Map04: Im not sure about getting 100% kills here, since there were some monsters inside testing tubes,

maybe it was related to the last secret that I couldnt find (424/437 kills and 3/4 secrets)

 

Map05: Really liked the progression on this one, combat was very engaging. (1/2 secrets)

 

Map06: This is the one that kicked my ass several times, and the "lights out" gimmick is well done,

doesnt get annoying, plus theres plenty of googles around, my favourite so far.

Finally got some 100%

Played map 2 and had a FANTASTIC TIME. I think you got these in the wrong slots cause I found this map more fun and easier than the first. The first one always buggers me up with the acid stuff and the worry of rad suits falling off but map 2 was very joyous - good times!

Yes, you cant do 100% because of testing tubes. :)

Very sorry. After the last time you told me I was playing it wrong I wasn't expecting you to change it 🤷

 

I actually was trying to play this right but seem to keep failing at that

 

Let me know if you would be interested in me making more videos on pistol start but I won't be replaying map 2

Here is a whole slew of videos

 

- Decided to redo map 2 with pistol start afterall

- Lots of fun with maps 2 and 3

- Map 4 may take another hour to process before you can watch the video, if it doesn't work try again later. This one was less fun as I struggled with ammo issues

Map07:

Cool layout and progression, even though that final shootable switch took me off guard. Couldnt find the only secret on the map.

Great finale with the Cyber-demons.

 

Map08:

I liked the use of 3d floor for the bridge, really cool looking enviroment. Again, good combat, love how each map has its own

finale. Things are obviously getting harder, with spots were I died quite a bit.

Some areas had to be cleared slowly or else you find yourself "too" busy.

 

Map09:

This is by far my favourite map visually speaking, good choice of textures, previous maps were good,

but sometimes I felt there were maybe too many different textures, and the theme represented (tech base)

gets a bit shaky. This map was different, it was the one that clicked with me the most.

The geometry was great too. Really cool map!

 

Map10:

Another visually stunning map, the finale area is quite impressive.

Textures chosen for this map were very colorful, but consistent overall.

Combat was engaging and fluid, even though there was one revenant moment that felt maybe too overcrowded.

Other than that a great ending for the mapset. Didnt find any of the 3 secrets, shame on me.

 

To sum up. Theres plenty of good combat, hard at times but fair. Balance was very good for pistol start and secrets

were cool and helpful in the journey. My only complaint falls into the personal taste/choice of textures.

Until Map 09, most were cool looking but at the same time too varied and colorful at some points, which I would have

tweaked here and there for a more cohesive enviroment, but again, thats just me, and it doesnt affect at all to

the good fun it provides. Also I would say Supercharge fits like a glove, loved all the weapons, sounds,

different monsters etc, maybe those final black Cyberdemons were too spongy, but its a final boss so its fine.

Pros:
Interesting take on creating a wad that balances and embraces the Supercharge mod. 
Refreshing encounters that border mild slaughter but not impossibly difficult. 
Use of enemies not seen in other Doom wads often like the green Cyber Demons. 

Cons:

Jokes aside phase 2 of the last battle could be reworked. I did like the urgency it gave the player and the secondary teleporter. However, as mentioned in the previous con's this enemies has a 100% hit chance if he is in line of sight as they shoot out bfg tracers. So some stress is accumilated when you are standing behind pillars praying the archvile is distracted while you are waiting for an enemy bfg ball to pass or hit something to get the tracers to miss. This creates a dual sense of hit scan. If you charge the Thaemuz then you risk getting crossmapped by the archviles, if you focus on the archviles there is a guarantee of getting hit by the tracers. A fun fight to be sure, but I think if the scale of that arena was just slightly larger it would balance things out so that the archviles would be out of range until you got to the second platform with 2 thaemuz's.

Not having the beautiful one mentioned in the end text screen. Come on Austin :) "double barrel" really? We know your love for that gun! Seriously though that screen is more a pro than a con.

Had the privilege to play 3 more last night

 

6: The atmosphere and music was perfect and it looked cool in the dark but it did make it confusing to navigate for me. You turned up the volume especially with the mastermind fight but in the end I felt a little overwhelmed and frustrated and took an easy exit opportunity haha

 

7: This map was PERFECT for me, I had nothing but a blast playing it

 

8: I don't think I ever died or swore so much when playing, this map REALLY frustrated me despite looking AWESOME - the arena was the most frustrating place to play doom in ever, I fell in those damn holes a million times

I was hoping to play through map 9 tonight, but got stuck here on screenshot - no blue key - no way out - completely confused - the video won't be available for almost an hour - send instructions

Oh man, so I figured out how to proceed in map 9 - had a lot of fun and guess what? I'm lost again!! In the screenshot below I have no clue what to do next .... give 1 hour to process - send help

 

Either your map is hard to navigate or I'm getting dumber
