SOLVED! I've made switches many times, but this one won't work

Currently doing an overhaul of my WAD "Thy Wrath Unleashed" and I've run into an issue.

I made a switch that is supposed to lower a wall down. I've done this many times before, but for some reason this one won't work.

I've rebuilt the switch many times, rebuilt the section of wall it is supposed to lower many times, etc. and I can't get it to work.

The switch doesn't even trigger. I even tried making the switch trigger something else and it won't do that either. I've tried every "S1" ("Switch Once") action there is. I've tried applying new numbers to the wall and the switch. I've tried making the ceiling come DOWN instead of the floor going down. 

The linedef highlights in yellow and highlights the area I want it to affect (the wall to come down) like it's supposed to. But when you walk up to the switch and hit the use key, nothing happens. No switch noise, no wall noise, nothing.

Is there a limit to the # of switches you can have in a WAD?

It's hard for me to tell in that screenshot, but I think the switch linedef is facing the wrong way. The little dash in the center of the line must point towards the player. Select the line and hit "F" to flip it.

ALSO: I don't know the decorum around here, but should I delete my thread now that my issue is fixed? Or leave it for posterity?

Please leave the thread for posterity. You never know who might have a similar problem and come here looking for answers and find this thread, thus leading them to the solution they sought. This place is a repository of knowledge, and it doesn't function as well in that role if people delete threads once they found out how to solve the particular issue they were having.

 

You could (and perhaps, should) edit the title and add to the title something like "SOLVED" or "Solution Found" or something similar so that anyone looking at the thread knows that you found out how to solve the problem with the switch that you were having.
