Zandronum Settings Won't Save

I have a fresh install of Zandronum that I'm running through ZDL with Brutal Doom and some other mods (they are not in the skins folder). Whenever I change the gameplay or brutal doom settings they revert as soon as I start a new game or load a game. Zandronum is installed to the root folder and I've had the same issue with a portable and non-portable installation. Zandronum's .ini file in its folder is not set to read-only. I deleted my old Zandronum installations. I asked on the doom subreddit and the zandronum forums a few days ago but nobody has responded.
