Bethesda breaks its own DRM

So it turns out that Bethesda supplied an easily-pirated version of the Bethesda launcher version of the game right at launch. So they paid for Denuvo and got none of the benefit. And they've done it before.

Bethesda continues to be a punchline.

I feel sad for iD Software that AGAIN Bethesda make their games pirated so easy again :(

Eh, in the case of Doom, Denuvo was probably going to be removed eventually anyway, like it happened with 2016.

 

And the game will still sell like hot cakes.

Bethesda has been turning into a joke, I hope they can be better... I hope.

But to be honest, they always had their missteps.

So the steam version still has Denuvo and the pirates don't?  That's annoying.  I'm surprised my steam copy runs so well.  I've had stuttering issues with other Denuvo titles, such as FFXV and Jedi Fallen Order.  Maybe newer versions of the DRM are better.

I read somewhere that it only includes part of Denuvo, specifically the part that does not effect performance. Game runs like butter, after I disabled the steam overlay, my game went from about 120 avg fps to locked at 144 (that's the max I set it due because of my monitors refresh rate).
