Foebane72 Posted March 21, 2020 This video is an extremely fascinating examination of id Tech 7, which does away with Megatextures as a FAILED experiment once and for all and results in higher, more stable texture fidelity and detail, and smaller file sizes, as well as the interesting mass application of normal-mapped decals to add lots of detail. Basically, I'm hyped to see this engine now, since I'm fascinated by game engines, especially industry-leading ones like this. Another thing that's mentioned is that Doom Eternal's visuals is like a cross between Doom (2016) and Quake 3 Arena, and since I ADORE the latter with id Tech 3, I can't wait to see this game in action now! 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
