Shark Posted March 26, 2020 Greetings all, I've used GZDOOM for many years, but have recently fooled around with prBOOM+/glBOOM+ in an attempt to get a more authentic DOOM experience while still having the option of playing with high FOV, high framerate, etc. Only thing is, I haven't found a way to play SIGIL or Nerve (one of my favorite DOOM II wads) with either fork of the sourceport. I know there are some command-line things I can do, but is there any way to get something like, say, Real667's DOOM Launcher to run these wads properly? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Redneckerz Posted March 26, 2020 Lets use a tweet from the man Romero to highlight this: And this tweet on how to run Sigil with PrBoom (Which i assume works similarly in Windows, but please correct me if i am wrong, which i likely am.) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I appreciate the quick reply! When I run the following command, DOOM runs with the SIGIL splash on the menu, but I cannot select SIGIL from the episode list (I also cannot warp to any E5 missions). This also happens in the launcher. Therein lies the crux of my issue. Edited March 26, 2020 by Shark 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shark Posted March 26, 2020 Ooh, okay, well, I can get the SIGIL_COMPAT.wad to work as an E3 replacement, so I guess that's okay. Still at a loss for Nerve.wad, though. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

As for Nerve: https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=63593 Or follow this guide (Check the ZDoom section) - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=188631388 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
fabian Posted March 26, 2020 If you use nerve.wad with the doom2 iwad that's shipped with the doom 3 bfg edition it will be auto-detected and the episode menu enabled. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Diabolución Posted March 27, 2020 As for PrBoom-Plus / GlBoom-Plus: glboom-plus -complevel 2 -iwad [bfgdoom2.wad|doom2bfg.wad] -file nerve.wad //// Yes, you should use yes or yes the BFG IWAD. glboom-plus -complevel 3 -iwad [doom.wad|doomu.wad] -nodeh -file sigil_compat_v1_21.wad sigil_shreds_compat.wad -deh sigil_compat_v1_21.deh //// The DEHACKED lump of the latest compatible release of Sigil has an oversight which will prevent PrBoom from setting proper par times. And sigil_shreds_compat.wad, available if you purchased a physical copy or the premium download, is optional. sigil_compat_v1_21.deh -> https://pastebin.com/ZhazG42b 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
