Xeriphas1994 Posted April 3, 2020 Although I fall on the "purist wanker" side of any DWF discussion, and most of my games are older than Doom, MIDIs somehow have aged so poorly that they actively distract me from play. I collect Amiga tracker music, and whenever I find something in the ambient / downtempo styles of polished 1990s shooters, I add it to the Doom playlist. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
versionfiv Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) that's why you get new soundfonts! but i agree, cause i did say earlier that i'm tired of the original midis to the point where i mute them in pwads. i only will listen to them if i'm playing the og iwads. -Knightly- Posted April 3, 2020 It really depends on what kind of mood i'm in. Most of the time I like to listen to the music in game, I actually like the midis alot. Especially if i'm playing a custom wad I like to listen to whatever music they put in. But if i'm replaying like Doom 1 I just listen to my own music or listen to a YouTube video, because i've heard those songs so many times. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Misty Posted April 3, 2020 I respect mapper's decision with music, so I listen what they provide with their creation. I'd like to if someone would do the same with my chosen tracks... but I guess it's way too much to ask. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Deleted_Account Posted April 3, 2020 Generally I'll play the game with the music first, as intended, then I'll turn off the in game music and substitute it with my own tunes/podcast/scary stories! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
