Modeling Package

Which Modeling Package does ID Software use to model/animate their models. I believe I heard it was Maya for better control of painting on vertexs.

At the Macworld presentation JC said that the models (or at least some of them - I don't remember) were done in Maya.

Then again, in some obscure corner of my subconsciousness, I have this odd feeling about having once read in an interview that they went over to a different package.

Not sure if im allowed to talk about this but there is a file "around" called MayaImportx86.dll which I thought was kinda interesting. If you know what I mean.

Make your model,scale it to the correct size (8m in lw = 1 grid unit in grid8 of GtkRadiant), make a proper UV map, convert the model from quads to triangles, make a material file and drop it into the level.
