Dark Phang Posted November 17, 2002 I've been reading up a lot lately on Doom III technology. The bumpmapping, specularity, and the volumetric shadows on close to every object in the game world (courtesy of the stencil buffer) has me very excited about this game. However, I am confused on the function and benefit of per-pixel lighting, as I have read that it will be an important componenet of the Doom III technology. From the sounds of it, it looks like it is very accurate lighting on a per - pixel basis on the objects and creatures in the game world as the light is reflected off of them. Am I right on this? Thank you in advance. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
