A lot of my seriously old DM maps started with a MR in front, and then the name. 

eg, MRPD3D.wad - Mr.Rocket's Plexydome 3D.

*Note it was made for Doom Legacy with Doom2.wad.

Almost a 20 year old wad now.

 

It should be able to run on any modern source port that supports 3d floors.

Absolutely nothing can top "Annegieren Pritzelary". It's mind-numbingly fucktangular.

 

The other one I can think of off the top of my head is someone submitted a map named "not another covfefe map" or something like that to a 32in24 session (I think?), with no context at all for the name's use. They were promptly told to pick a different name. :P

I like most of these "bad" names more than the usual generic power metal map names that get used in most doom wads.

 

Imo actual bad names are stuff like "hell's fury", "eyes of hate", "crimson sunrise", "temple of noun",  "hell's death", "land of death", "sword of bile", "evil murmurs", "veil of death",  "veil of land of death", "the evil", "gateway to dark", and so on.

Iirc Deus Vult II had a map called "You Shall Not Pass!"

 

Think it's obvious why. But more generally speaking, anything containing the words "evil", "dark", or "death" tends to be horribly cliche and exceptionally done to death (no pun intended) these days IMO. You'd think we're past trying to sound grim & dark, but I guess not, heh.

Pretty much all map names in Coopbuildlm.wad, not dumb names but really humorous and different.

(Disclaimer: That wad was never fully released and the project got closed after the author's incident..)
