What did I receive in King Novaks room and why was this something useful for the Betrayer?

It's the casing for the Celestial Locator. The Betrayer put a power source in to allow it to function. Then you place the Celestial Locator into the FoD and it allows VEGA to locate Deag Ranak.

Thanks. I got confused since the casing looked similar to the robot/mech batteries and some other casing I carried in Doom Fortress.
