It's a quaint little Eastern European city, if you take away the fact that the Rapture just happened and the area just outside the city looks like a volcanic hellhole. "Welcome! Welcome to City 17..." 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Maggle Posted April 19, 2020 Good to know I'm not the only one who was reminded of HL2 by Sacrament. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Even has some cool houses one could squat in, like The Mansion and House Of Thorn. Personally, I'd live in Against Thee Wickedly or The Living End. The only old game which has places I'd feel comfortable in would be Shadow Warrior. Same. But, I would feel at home in any temple or haunted house from Blood, that's definitely where my soul belongs. SW too, but to a lesser extent. Edited April 20, 2020 by seed 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
morrigan Posted April 20, 2020 I'd pick the penthouse over at the MAP08 of EARTH.WAD. I mean, look at this beauty: Spoiler Spoiler 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Maggle Posted April 20, 2020 I think I'd also add Diabolus Ex, City in the Sky from Hell Revealed, and Floating World from Whitemare 2. I would add more, but they're not city maps :/ 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
DSC Posted April 20, 2020 Oh, forgot to say: you can add some mansion and house levels too if you want! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I agree with Graf regarding SW too, particularly the "ancient" levels early on. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Some of the ancient temples, particularly the one on the mountain, near the end of the game, are not bad either. Twin Dragon also has some rather cool looking levels too. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Phobus Posted April 21, 2020 Having made a couple of "MYHOUSE.WAD" levels for my current megaWAD, I can say that I've lived in a couple of them already. I think the neighbourhood I drew out for my current flat is much nicer than the one I really live in, even with the demons, so that'd do nicely. If it has to be a city, rather than a suburb... The vacation resort city of Duke Caribbean (and therefore Doomed Vacation) looks amazing. I'd happily have a bit of that in my life. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
GamingMarine Posted April 21, 2020 Probably the Canal Road in Hellbound. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Love that view on the village perched on its hill. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lizardcommando Posted April 22, 2020 I would have picked MAP05 in Lost Civilization. What a nice quiet seaside city. You get a good view of the ocean too. Although, second place would have gone to this one old Doom 2 map. I think it was either called Doomcity or Doomtown. But it had a gas station and a 7-11. There was also some grocery story, a church and a bar. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Doomsday Posted April 22, 2020 The Underhalls... that isn't a city level is it? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted April 22, 2020 (edited) Why, the "city" from Cybie 2 of course. There's none better than I know. A bit scarce on the groceries, the Pimps' toilets are just adequate, the Hoes' ones are damn right scary, the basketball pitch has a bit too much ethnic tension for my liking, but hey, can't beat 'em cyber bitches! Crusader No Regret Posted April 23, 2020 Some that haven't been mentioned already ... Monster Mansion from Eternal Doom (map 31) It's a really well furnished mansion especially considering when it was made. TV and couch, minibar, kitchen, dining room, indoor pool and tennis court, a large bed for when it's time to turn in, and parking area for your and your friends' vehicles. Has a nice view of nearby rock formations too. (forgot name: map 6 of Bloody Steel) That chateau is pretty swank. The grounds out front have fallen into some decay though. Lava is seeping out and it's not helping the property value. Hedges are still nice and green so it can't be too bad... 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
