Are Demons Human?

All are straight from hell except from zombiemen, shotgunners, chaingunners and maybe imps.

I've always preferred the idea that the demons in Doom are more like aliens from another dimension parallel to ours, as seen in H.P Lovecraft stories, Warhammer 40000 or Stranger Things, with the formers being possesed or turned like the cultists in Warhammer and the demons the creatures from that realm.

All the satanic imagery in the games as well as the intermission texts seems to suggest otherwise though unfortunately, so I guess it's supposed to be the Christian Hell we're the the bad people go, there's even a line in Doom 2s ending where Doomguy wonders where the bad people will go now. Which would mean the formers are released bad souls and the rest are fallen angels cast out by God for rebelling.

I'd always heard in more literal Christian etc. doctrine that angels are not former humans, they're different beings entirely.

I assumed it was the same for demons.

But I agree with others that it's probably not a hard line in Doom canon.

So it is, Angels and Demons aren't human.

Angels are pure Servants, thats why Lucifer began to rebel, as Humans are free Beings.

As Doom took Inspiration from that:

No, all Demons are just Demons and the former Humans are just possesed Bodies.

I also like that Part on Doom, no grounded Explination, just pure Hell.

Not explanable by human beings.

Thats what i dislike about the first Doom Movie, it was a Viurs, something grounded.

How boring!

Why can't it be something without Explanations that just keeps staying in the Dark, something higher, no human can imagine.

Btw. it is pretty cool to read all the jewish/christian Stuff that is more mythical/not canon.

From Succubi to Seraphim, the crazy designed Angels from Bayonetta are actually pretty well presentative of what you can find there.

I think it all depends on your own head canon. Tom Hall was going to put an in depth explanation in to their origins but that all got dropped.
