WarriorCode2416 Posted April 24, 2020 I love both of these games, and I want to be able to play them while I'm traveling or at my Grandma's house. I can provide proof of purchase, whatever that may be, I'd just like to know if there's a way for me to play the game on my laptop, because it has no disc port. The games are Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal for the Xbox One. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Roebloz Posted April 25, 2020 You can always buy an external disc reader or whatever these things are called. And I don't think you can read Xbox One games with a PC/Laptop, I'm afraid. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I'm able to log into my xbox account and download some digital games with my game pass. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bauul Posted April 25, 2020 (edited) What you're asking for is whether Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal are "cross buy" games, meaning you have a single license for both Xbox and PC. While cross-buy games do exist, the Dooms aren't one of them I'm afraid (as far as I know). They tend to be first party titles like Sea of Thieves or Gears of War, or in some cases some specific publishers offer it. Edited April 25, 2020 by Bauul 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Legally, you only own Doom on the Xbox One as of now, and no, the PC won't boot up games from a Xbox disc, the games you download as part as your game pass on your computer are versions made for PC. Only legal way to play the game on your computer is to buy it again for the platform. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nevander Posted April 25, 2020 You cannot play console discs on PC, even if you have a CD/DVD drive. Some console games can be emulated I think, but these Dooms are not going to be them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
