May Movie Madness (Beat/Fill Movie Demos Month)

Quarantined with too little to occupy your free time? Here's a month guaranteed to keep you busy for a while! This month we will be attempting to make movie demos only, i.e., demos that cover multiple maps. Now's the time to bust out those 6 hour-long UV-Max D2ALLs (or maybe time for a certain someone to finally take on the elusive 30re).

 

Note: in order to be accepted for points, your movie must NOT qualify as an Other Movie on DSDA. That is, you're not allowed to just post a map 1-2 movie of Doom 2. The following are acceptable movies for this thread:

 

• Full runs of any wad with multiple maps (even if just a two-map wad)
• Episode runs for any WAD qualify in the following cases:
  • WADs with episodes defined by death exits or other means (e.g., Scythe 2)
    • The episodes should be very clearly defined for this case; e.g., in the case of Sunlust, there are death exits, but not a clear episodic structure because of how they are placed
  • 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 convention only for mapsets where this makes sense (e.g., a 16-map wad doesn't need a 1-10 run, but a 20 map wad can have episode 1 and 2 only)
    • There is some leeway here; e.g., in case of BF_THUD, it is 29 maps, so it makes sense to run episode 3 as maps 21-29.
• Nomo movies for Doom 1 episodes that skip ExM8 are not allowed.

 

Rules:

• 3 points for filling a movie run
• 1 point for beating a movie run
• Non-record demos are not eligible.
• Unless you are beating a nomo movie that has existed for the run prior to this month, nomo movies are not eligible. This is primarily to avoid low effort tablefilling.
  • This includes the Nomo 100S and Collector categories.
• Other than the above, all non-Other DSDA categories accepted
• GZDoom WADs are allowed
• TAS demos are not allowed. Again, this is to avoid low effort crap TAS runs.

 

Demos must be posted by end of day June 3rd.
