Changing game configuration in doombuilder

Recommended Posts

I been making an a megawad in doom 2 format and i was thinking of changing to zdoom(doom in doom format) i was just asking if this would have any negative affect converting already made maps to this style, the reason i ask is becouse i want to be able to add new costume monsters and new textures without replacing default doom 2 assets which i have obviously used till now

I also want to know if theres a limit to how many custome monsters one can stick into a single wad?

You can affect the conversion to G/ZDoom (DOOM in DOOM format) easily in Ultimate Doom Builder, GZDoom Builder Bugfix or even Doombuilder2 by pressing F2 and selecting the appropriate mapping format.

Then include as many DECORATE actors as you like.

The only negative effect that this pwad will then have is that the pwad can no longer be run with PrBOOM+ (et al) and must be run with G/ZDoom.

However, since you are already converting the format why not go all the way and convert to UDMF, which offers many benefits?
