What difficulty are the demos in classic games?

In the classic of Ultimate Doom, Doom II, and heck-even Final Doom. What I wonder is "what difficulty are the main menu screen default 'demos' being played with?"

Usually the hardest non-Nightmare difficulty. (i.e; Ultra-Violence for Doom, Thou art a Smite-Meister for Heretic, etc.)
