Question about GZDoom's internationalization

Alright, just a small, simple question at the moment.

Is the Japanese translation based on the PC98 port or different?

It shouldn't be, it was an independent effort by volunteers.

Doubt it, iirc the Japanese translation is being handled by a few independent volunteers and not based on anything.

Well, there's only so many things that can be fundamentally different about a translation like that.

 

アーマーボナスを得ました is still "Picked up an armor bonus," pure and simple. You could use different words/phrasing, but what's the point besides being different for no good reason at all?
