pickle-chips Posted June 25, 2020 So i have an old 2012 MacBook Air, and it is able to run Roblox, Shadow Warrior, etc. But I have no idea on how to play GZdoom on it. I tried downloading a Chex Quest wad file and running it with GZdoom, but it won't work. Help please, I need my brutal doom! Also, I am scared of downloading wads and freedom and other things on sketchy looking websites. I would like to find a trustworthy website. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kappes Buur Posted June 25, 2020 I do not have a Mac so this may not work properly for one reason or another, but it is worth a shot Download the appropriate GZDoom version https://zdoom.org/downloads Follow the steps given in https://zdoom.org/wiki/Installation_and_execution_of_ZDoom 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Pegleg Posted June 25, 2020 Welcome to Doomworld @pickle-chips! Enjoy your stay. I do have a Mac. It's a Mac Mini from late 2014, and I'm running Mac OS X version 10.13.6. I have GZDoom versions 3.2.5 and 4.1.3, but I assume that this will still work with version 4.4.2. As Kappes Burr wrote, go to https://zdoom.org/downloads and download the Macintosh (Intel) build under GZDoom. You can install straight from the .dmg package. If, for whatever reason, version 4.4.2 doesn't work, then the Archive contains older versions of GZDoom. Just follow the steps for installation, as Kappes Burr suggested. As for trustworthy websites, try these. For wad files: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/ For Freedoom: https://freedoom.github.io/ Have fun! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
