Mappers, which map of yours has the most sectors?

I was involved in ZDCMP2, so I can stake a claim in a map with 16562 sectors. Of course, I only did a tiny percentage of that, so that won't be my thing here.

Instead we'll go even further back in time, to something I made in 2005 and eventually finalised in 2006: Warpzone! I was playing a lot of stuff like Hell Revealed and Alien Vendetta at the time, but without the experience to get the nuance there, so it's a giant map with 2657 sectors and over 1000 enemies on UV that you'll grind through for over an hour on your first attempt, assuming the Hexen-style switch hunt progression doesn't get you lost and further slow you down. Here's an editor shot:

Exomoon map 19 - Void

It has 1900 sectors, even though it's a much smaller map than the previous one (18), but the background decorations are most of the sectors.

My Doomworld Mega Project 2018 submission, with 3446 sectors. Pretty big for my standards, in both size and detail.

TIL I have never made a map with 1,000 or more sectors. First place by a mile is Map16 of Rot90fix.wad, sitting in at 997 sectors. Like Decay said, sector count has basically nothing to do with map quality, but by my standards this was a rather detailed and intricate City map:

Sitting at a very distant second is Shovelware Adventure, which by all accounts is a rather large and beastly vanilla-compatible map, coming to a humble total of 609 sectors:

Now that I know I have never made a map with over 1K sectors, I will deliberately make sure to keep it that way. Something I like to do with my creative pursuits is take as little as I can and stretch it as far as it can possibly go.

I do not have an image or a showcase as my PC was formatted twice or thrice by December or something, but my first (cancelled) mod, Entering the Impending Chaos's Map03 - Relinquish to your Humanity was about the double of size as my current team project, The Chaotic Tides of Agrazoth's E1S1 - Shipwrecked (Old name, can't remember the new one currently because I also have no PC rn.)

It was divided on Four areas IIRC - An optional Laboratory to get the Plasma Rifle, a Demonic Temple where you fought a dark Cyberdemon to get a blue skull, a Hotel where you fought the Mirror Realm Lord for the Red Skull and a giant mountain you had to climb to fight a flying Spider Mastermind-like boss to get the yellow skull, then fight other minibosses and blablablabla to fight Doomguy.

The point is that map was massive as hell, but I only finished the Hotel, Lab and a part of the temple before my PC was formatted.

TCTOA's E1S1 will be meant to be probably as big or a bit less than ETCC's MAP03, but right now I can't work on it.

Sorry for just being able to write it out, not having the stuff at hand sucks.

Operation: Astrostein from Blade of Agony has a total of 8983 sectors - I would have never expected to build something that huge as a single person - don't ask how many hours I spent creating this beast.
